my existing headphone jack would not make good so instead of buying new headphones I thought I would try the extension to see if things would be better. Female jack on extension was a tighter fit and cured the problem .

Used on Control4 IR inputs. We use 3.5mm plug to captive screw adapters to connect the control wiring. The plugs are too close to accommodate these adapters. These short extenders are perfect for these type of situations.

These adapter cables were exactly what I needed to bridge the gap between a recessed 3.5mm port on an FM receiver used to monitor audio on a film set and the end user's own wired headphones/earbuds.

I have a classroom set of chromebooks, and a classroom set of headphone adapters (so that the thick 1/4 inch headphones can be used with the chromebooks). Only problem? The adapters are THICK and the chromebooks wouldn't lay flat on the table with the adapter plugged in, and so the adapter would either slip out and BLAST noise all over the room, or actually (in some cases) actually damaged the sound input on the chromebook. This little extension cable is a life saver. It's thin, so it lays flat next to the chromebook, and I can connect the headphone adapter directly into the cable. I no longer have to worry about headphone issues! Also, I have ipads in super soft rubbery cases (so that the kids can't damage them) and there's like 1/2 inch of padding to get to the sound hole. I have some of these extension cables, just permanently plugged into the ipads so that students can plug headphones into ipads more easily!

I use this as a safety breakaway for my headphone cable. If I start to walk off with the headphones on my head, or catch the cable on something, this short cable comes unplugged, rather than overstressing and damaging the cable ends.
