Connect MULTIPLE different video source devices, and display to MULTIPLE different displays. MATRIX boxes come in 2 configuration types:

STANDARD Matrix - Takes 2 or more SOURCE signals, and distributes the SAMES signal to all monitor connected to the output. When you chain the SOURCE, all connected displays show the same signal.

TRUE Matrix - Take 2 or more SOURCE signals, and allows you to pick and choose which signal goes to which display. This matrix type is generally slightly more expensive but allows for much more flexibility with video distribution.
