Firewire cables (also known as iLink and IEEE cables) are primarily used in the marketplace to connect Digital Video Cameras and Hard Drives to PC's. A typical Firewire port found on a Digital Video Camera is a ''4 pin'' variety. My Cable Mart carries many lengths and adapters to go from 6 pin to 4 pin, 6 pin to 9 pin, and 9 pin to 4 pin. We will CONTINUE to carry this legacy cable for as long as available from our distributors. However, many lengths and types are now discontinued and no longer available.

This cable connects any computer with a 6pin port to any Firewire device with a 4pin port such as digital video camcorders. Your computer MUST have a 4pin firewire connector installed in order to use this cable type. Alternatively, your computer MAY be a 4pin configuration, and your device a 6pin device.
