“This product did exactly what it was designed to. It converted the CTIA jack on an Intel based laptop to the OMTP wiring.standard; reversing the second ground ring with the mic sleeve. Now the sleeve is ground to match pro grade audio gear, and the second ring is for the mic. For TRS wiring gear to work on TRRS plugs, jacks and cables; another adapter is required.”
