Audio/Video/Combo (1, 2, 3, and 5 Wire)
Component Cables are used in today's LCD, Plasma, Projection TV's, Digital Receivers (both Cable and Satellite), and some of the newer DVD players. Component cables can also be used for any standard RCA type connection used in older VCR's requiring 1, 2, or 3 wires. The term "Component Video" is defined at "The output of a video device (such as a DTV set top box) or the input of a DTV receiver or monitor consisting of 3 primary color signals: red, green and blue the together convey all necessary picture information. With current consumer video products, the 3 component signals have been translated in luminance (Y) and tow color difference signals (PP, PR) each on a separate wire." Carefully determine the length you will need. Locate the RCA connection points on both your receiver and TV, and measure (including any cable slack needed) the distance. If your receiver is located in a Home-Theatre "stand", be sure to include enough length to have the cable properly run up the back of any cable harness or cable "tube". In many instances, cables of this nature are ordered too short, and are eventually returned for a longer length.
My Cable Mart offers one line of RCA
(female at both ends) cables. All our cables - from the single
wire to the five wire combination cables have gold plated contacts and
ground connection points. |
