This is a specialized adapter that will allow you to connect a 4 conductor TRRS device (typically a headset with left/right audio and microphone) in a stereo only port (left/right audio only, eliminates the microphone connection). Please note that important detail: This adapter will "ground out" (eliminate) the microphone connection (See wiring standard or tech drawing for details).
This specific adapter uses the CTIA/AHJ OR OMTP wiring standard typically used by most computers, headsets, and apple devices. Adapter will universally support BOTH wiring standards as pins 3 & 4 on the 4 conductor female connector will BOTH be connected to pin 3 on the TRS Male Stereo connector.
