The REAR mounting plate is 19 11/16" wide. For SOME locations that have studs at a 24" gap, an additional wooden backing is recommended for mounting (not included) for larger TV sets.

The slim wall plate keeps the screen close to the wall for a very discreet installation that is perfect for boardrooms, digital signage, or home theaters. The mount includes simple to align brackets and a unique wall plate that can be mounted to a single wood stud, two wood studs, or concrete.

• Will fit most small to mid-sized flat panel plasma and LCD TVs with mounting patterns up to VESA 750x450.

NOTE/CAUTION: This mount is designed and intended to be mounted using 4 supplied lag bolts into TWO studs. However, many newer homes have studs at 24" intervals. Thus hitting 2 studs using the supplied 18' mount plate can not be accomplished. TWO non-standard mounting options can be successfully used. We do NOT recommend a single stud mount for any TV over 100 lbs:
1) Drill 3/8" holes in the CENTER of the rear mount plate (top and bottom), and use SINGLE lag bolts along with supplied washers (2 total). Mounts this plate EXACTLY center of your stud. It is VITAL that the lag bolts fasten through the center of the stud. OR
2) Purchase a 3/4" thick (or thicker) piece of plywood 24x10" - attach the plywood to the 18" mount plate using nuts and bolts (not supplied), and then finally using the supplied lag bolts, attached the 24" wide plywood board to your wall.

Mounting on a SINGLE stud should only be attempted if you will be attaching the mount plate with the single stud exactly CENTER to the mount plate. Otherwise, a 2 stud mount is always recommended.

Warning: This mounting bracket is not compatible with certain LG (r), PIONEER(r) and Sharp(r) brand TVs. Specifically, the following models are not compatible. Pioneer: PDP-6100HD, PRO-1410HD, PDP-614MX, PDP-6070HD, PRO-1540HD, PDP-607CMX, PRO151FD.
